This is a flat-head screwdriver. It has a long shank and a flat tip. The tip is magnetic. You can pick up and hold the screw with the magnetized tip. See, it remains attached to the tip! It’s very useful and easy for handling small screws.
Also, you can turn the screw with the screwdriver. Just like this!
This is a short screwdriver and this is a long one.
And this is another kind of screwdriver. It’s called a cross-head screwdriver! The tip looks like a cross (it has a four point star at the end) This kind of screwdriver does not slip while you are screwing, unless you use the wrong size screwdriver.
OPEN-END WRENCH
This is an open-end wrench. It’s doubled ended. It has U-shaped opening for screwing. This opening end is bigger than the other one.
BOX-END WRENCH
And this is a box-end wrench. Look, the opening is enclosed for a better grip of the bolt or nut. It locks the bolt/nut in place.
Let’s see if there are any bolts in the room? We can tighten or loosen them. This one, on the cupboard door! Just place an open-end wrench onto the bolt head and start turning to the right\left. Good.
These two types of wrenches are a set (= they are a pair). It means you can use them together! Hold the bolt with this one. See, it holds the bolt steady. You screw on the bolt with this one. Great! We’ve tightened it!
Let’s try again. See that bolt? It has a nut. So, place the box-end wrench over the nut. Now place the open-end wrench on the head of the bolt. Hold the box-end wrench firmly. Now, turn the open-end wrench to the left! Good. You’ve made a half-turn! Now, it is fully tightened!
CRESCENT WRENCH
This one is the most powerful and most useful tool that exists. You can change the size (width) of this wrench to fit any bolt or nut.
There is a small wheel – a thumbscrew here. So you roll it with your thumb. Try rolling it. See, the wrench is changing size! So, now, you can tighten (or loosen) bolts and nuts of any size! Hold the handle and let’s try to tighten\loosen the bolt! Position it and turn it to the left\right. Great!
RATCHET WRENCH
This is a ratchet wrench. And here is a set of sockets for it. They are in different sizes. Choose one that fits this bolt in my hand. First, try to match the socket and bolt size. Do they match? No, try again. This socket matches! Good!
Now, place this socket into the ratchet wrench. Start tightening the bolt. See, the ratchet wrench has a backward and forward mechanism. See, you just turn it to the right and then to the left. Tighten to the right, then back to the left, and again, it’s easy!
There is no need to remove and refit it after each turn. It’s really fantastic!
You can do your work much faster with this.
