1. Mary is a business executive in London and she travels a lot. She has two young children. She works very hard so she hasn’t got time for hobbies.

2. Mick is a police officer in central New York. He is also in a rock group, and sings in clubs once a week. He goes parachuting in his free time.

Tell your partner about your lifestyle and listen to his comment.

Work in groups of four. Take turns to talk about activities you like and don’t like.

Example: Mm, well, I really love gardening and roses are my favourite flowers to breed. I grew about 50 different sorts of them. I think it’s a useful occupation because it doesn’t harm anyone.
