WhatfollowarethebasicrulesforusingvehiclesinthePathfinderRoleplayingGame.Theygiveanoverviewoftherulesthatallvehiclesuse.

· Drivers:Driverscontrolvehicles.AdriverisacreaturewithanИнтеллектscoreofatleast3whoisphysicallyabletomanipulateavehicle’sdrivingdeviceandwhoisbothwithinthedrivingspacesofavehicleandactivelymanipulatingthedrivingdevice.

· Occupants:Anycreatureriding,driving,servingascrewon,orprovidingpropulsionforavehicleisconsidereditsoccupant.

· Facing:Unlikecharacters,vehicleshaveaforwardfacing.Avehiclemovesbestwhenitmovesinthedirectionofitsforwardfacing.

· Acceleration/Deceleration:Vehiclesmustacceleratetoreachtheirmaximumбыстрое.Eachround,withtheproperdrivingactionandasuccessfulcheck,thedrivercanincreasethevehicle’smovementbyitsrateofacceleration,aslongthatvalueisnogreaterthanthevehicle’smaximumбыстрое.Vehiclesmustdeceleratetoзамедлениеdownandarehardtostopatanexactpoint. · DrivingCheck:Whenadrivertakesadrivingaction,shemustmakeadrivingchecktodeterminethemaneuverabilityandбыстроеofthevehiclethatround.Thevehicle’spropulsiondetermineswhatskillisusedforthedrivingcheck.AdrivercanalwaysmakeaМудростьcheckinplaceofadrivingcheck.ThebaseDCsforalldrivingchecksareСЛ5andСЛ20.UsethelowerСЛwhenthedriverisnotincombatandthehigherСЛwhenthedriverisincombat.

Everyvehiclehasamethodofpropulsion.Creaturespullchariotsandwagons.Boatsandshipsarepropelledbywatercurrents,wind,muscle,orallthreeforces.Fantasticalairshipsareheldaloftbyavarietyofpropulsionsources,bothmagicalandmundane.Themethodofpropulsiontypicallyaffectstheбыстроеandmaneuverabilityofavehicle,butmoreimportantly,avehicle’spropulsiondeterminestherequiredskillneededtocontrolavehicle.Thefollowingarethegeneralmethodsofvehiclepropulsion,alongwithwhatskillsaretypicallyneededtodrivesuchvehicles.

Alchemical:Rarely,analchemicalenginemaypropelavehicle.Poweredbysteamormorevolatilegasesandreagents,avehiclewithanalchemicalenginerequireseitheraЗнание(магия)orРемесло(алхимик)checktobedriven.ThebaseСЛtodriveanalchemicalvehicleis10higherthannormal.Alchemicalenginescanbeextremelypowerful,withtheabilitytopropelvehicleshundredsoftimestheirразмер.Theycanalsobeveryficklewhendrivenbycreaturesuninitiatedinthesecretsofalchemy.
