I don’t work on Saturdays (next Saturday). 5. During the afternoon our boss has meetings with clients (this afternoon). 6. I often meet Janet after work (this evening). 7. Mr Laker, the head of the division, generally has a talk with newcomers (this Friday). 8. Tony and his wife eat out every Saturday (next Saturday). 9. On Tuesday Steve always has lunch with Dr. Walker (next Tuesday). 10. We go for a picnic every Sunday (this Sunday). 11. The children always come with us on holiday (next holiday). 12. He doesn’t usually drive his car (tomorrow morning). 13. We often stay late at work (this evening). 14. My parents-in-law come to dine with us every Sunday (this Sunday). 15. Be going + Infinitive (with to)

Exercise 1. Comment on the use of be going toin these sentences. Translate them.

I’m going to have an early night. 7. I feel terrible. I’m going to be sick. 8. He’s going to give a report at the conference in Berlin next month. 9. I’m studying medicine. I am going to be a doctor. 10. He’s got a new job with a foreign company. He’s going to work abroad. 11. Is Tim going to study maths at university? 12. We sold our flat last month and we are going to live abroad.
