Good morning. I'd like to welcome you all here this morn­ing. I'm Charles Mackintosh of Ferris International. Good morning. I'm delighted to be here today. My name's Frank Jones. Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. My name is James Sampson and I am the Sales Director of Hansells International.
Good morning everyone. I'm Alan Gillingham of Frasers and I'm grateful for the opportunity to present our new product to you. Good morning, everyone. Thank you all for coming. Let me introduce myself. My name's Rebecca Mason and I am from Gregson PLC.

 

Saying something about yourself

Before I carry on, let me tell you something about myself. I've been working for Simpsons for fifteen years. My experience in this field began in 1980 when I joined a large engineering firm.

Welcome to Baxters. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk to you today. Thank you for inviting me to speak to you today.

 

Stating the purpose, giving the outline

What I’d like to do today is to present our new list of client services. As you know, I’m here today to talk about our latest product
The purpose of my talk is to present a proposal for the new production site. In my presentation this morning, I’ll be reviewing our sales performance over the last six months.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to make thissalespresentation to you. I wanted to take this opportunity to explain to youthe changes we are planning for the company.

 

Giving the outline of your presentation

I'll start by telling you who we are and what we do, then we'll look at what the customer needs from us and I'll explain how we can meet those needs. Finally, I'll give you our prices and show you that we represent value for money.   As you know, I'm here to suggest some solutions to the problem. I'll first of all outline the methods we used to establish the causes of the problem, then I'll discuss our findings, and finally, we'll look at alternative solutions and I'll.  

 

I have divided my talk into three main parts: firstly, I'd like to remind you of how things looked at this time last year, secondly, I will discuss our performance over the last six months and finally, I’ll look at our target for the next six months.  

 

I'll begin withsome general comments about the company and then I'll deal with each department in turn. After that, we'll look at future trends.  

 

Saying how long you will take

I will only take about thirty minutes or so of your time

 

Saying when you will deal with the questions

If you don't mind, I'll deal with questions at the end of my talk.   Please feel free to interrupt at any time if you'd like to ask a question.

 

Referring to handouts

Handouts can make a presentation easier for the audience as they can listen without making notes. Let the audience know at the beginning of the presentation whether you will be giving them handouts or copies of any visuals.

There's no need for you to take notes. At the end of the presen­tation, I'll give you a complete set of handouts containing all the important points. You needn't copy any of the visuals, I'll give you copies of everything later on.  
I hope you all have a copy of my handout. It containsall the visuals I will be using.

I should like to begin by look­ing at last year's performance. Let's begin... Our company was founded in 1990.

Involving the audience

It is important to make the audience feel involved. You can do this by asking rhetorical questions and by referring to the audience personality.

Supposing you lost one of your biggest clients. How would you deal with this?   This campaign was unsuccessful. And what did we learn from this? We learnt not to be complacent.  
Over the last two years, there has been a considerable drop in profits. What was the reason for this?Obviously, the economic recession throughout Europe was a key factor.   It has been decided to make some structural changes in the company. How will this affect our department? Well, unfortu­nately, it will result in some redundancies.
As you can see, our products really meet the needs of today's market. How do we manage to do all this at such a low cost? Well,...   There is a great demand for this product in Japan. What, then, are the implications for our company? Well, we intend to appoint local agents.
So, why are we losing customers to our competitor? I think our delivery service is much too slow. If you look at this chart, you will see that this study has taken far longer than we would have liked. How can we explain this? First of all, the initial research took much longer than expected.

 

Changing to another topic

The audience will find it easier to follow your presentation if you make it clear when you are changing the subject.

So, we've looked at the various problems and I'd now like to considersome possible solutions.
Having looked at all the possible options, let's move on tothe advantages and disadvantages of each one.  
This leads me to my next point which is the question of attracting more investment.
Moving on now to the environ­mental question. We are taking every precaution to ensure the careful disposal of waste.  
So, I'm sure you will agree that this is a really exciting new product. Now, turning to our prices.
