How is communication technology invading life?

Communication technology is precipitously invading our life. More and more people choose communicate via the Internet.

How does it affect young people?

Young people often have Facebook addiction. They don’t want to communicate to each other face to face.

Why are people afraid to communicate face to face? What do they miss out?

People are afraid to communicate face to face because they live in a virtual world. They miss a real emotions, relationship and friendship out.

Why are marriages breaking up?

Marriages are breaking up because couples don’t have the same interests. They prefer to meet their own friends in the social networks and spend free time in the Internet.

How has Facebook redefined privacy?

Many things become public because people share their own secrets with unknown persons. They leave the comments and give advises about life, children, husband, job, etc.

What is your personal opinion of the problem?

I think that social networks have good and bad sides. It is the only one way to communicate for people with impossibilities or woman with little babies. They give us a chance to know everything about our relatives when we travel. We can study many things staying at home and get a diploma. There are a lot of shops in the Internet with good sales.

But there are some problems. People with bad luck have an addiction from the Internet. They rise their self-estimations playing virtual games or giving a lot of different advises. Such people can hardly live in a real life. There are dangerous clubs in the Net, such as Suicides` clubs, drug shops that kill teenagers. Some people prefer to have a new meetings in spite of being married.

As for me Internet is very useful part of my life because I have friends all over the world and I`m a student.

Communication technology is invading our life more than ever before. Mobile phones are never farther than a reach of our hands away. Emails, social networks, the internet are more present than ever before. More than 60% of all internet users also communicate via social networks and over 85 % of all teenagers have accounts on social networks.

Psychologists have started to define terms like Facebook addiction in their reports. Social media sites can be so addicting that people, especially youngsters, do not want to spend time with anything else, they live their relationships in a virtual world.

People often choose to talk to each other via mobile phone, Skype or communicate via Facebook because they may be afraid of getting to know each other, face to face. However, by doing this, they are missing out on their partner’s facial expressions or the gestures that the other makes. Emotions are reduced to Likes or Dislikes, smiley faces or other emoticons.

Psychology experts have also noticed that more and more marriages are breaking up. One of the reasons may be because Facebook makes it possible to communicate with old friends from high-school or former boy or girl friends that you have not had contact with in ages.

Couples are not communicating with each other as they should in real life. They sometimes even break up over Facebook and other social networks. Frequently, they do not argue about things in the usual way, they tend to carry out quarrels in public. As a result, others comment about something that should be solved privately. They don’t share with each other, they share with everyone,

It is strange to consider the fact that software developers and social network creators are, in real life, not really very social. Most of them are shy people who like to stick to their computers and do not create lasting friendships.

Facebook has defined privacy in a new way. Many things that should be private have become public. Social media has changed the world. It has helped uprisings in Arab countries and overthrown governments. Facebook, Twitter and others are omnipresent. They are the last things we worry about when we go to bed and the first thinks we check on when we get up.

In the future more social networks may pop up. We may be able to not only share photos with others but also our shopping lists or illnesses. More and more sites on the web are telling people to share. The more followers and friends we have the more excited we get.

Коммуникационные технологии наполняют нашу жизнь больше, чем когда-либо. Мы не выпускаем из рук мобильные телефоны. Электронная почта, социальные сети и интернет очень востребованы в наше время. Более 60% всех интернет-пользователей общаются в соцсетях, а более 85% подростков имеют там свои странички.

Психологи в своих докладах начинают употреблять такие термины, как Фейсбук-зависимость. Информационные сайты могут вызывать такое привыкание, что люди, особенно молодёжь, не желают проводить время как-то по-другому. Они живут в виртуальном мире. Люди зачастую предпочитают общаться друг с другом по телефону, скайпу или посредством Фейсбука, потому что у них может быть боязнь реального, лицом-к-лицу, знакомства. Однако, общаясь таким образом, они упускают возможность видеть выражение лица, мимику, жесты своего собеседника. Эмоции заменяются лайками или дизлайками, смайликами и прочими эмоджи.

Эксперты психологии также отметили увеличивающееся количество разводов. Одной из причин может быть то, что Фейсбук дает возможность общаться со старыми друзьями с института или с одноклассниками, с которыми ты не общался годами. Супруги не общаются в реальной жизни. Иногда они даже отношения разрывают через Фейсбук или другие социальные сети. Зачастую они не выясняют отношения между собой, а выносят ссоры на публику. В итоге посторонние люди обсуждают то, что должно решаться наедине. Они не делятся друг с другом, зато делятся со всеми подряд.

Любопытно, что разработчики приложений и создатели соцсетей сами в обычной жизни не очень общительны. Большинство из них скромные люди, предпочитающие проводить время за компьютером и не заводящие друзей.

Фейсбук дал новое определение приватности. Многие личные вещи становятся достоянием общественности. Социальные сети изменили мир. В арабских странах с их помощью мятежники свергли правительство. Фейсбук, Твиттер и прочие социальные сети повсюду. Мы засыпаем с ними и просыпаясь, бросаемся проверять сообщения.

В будущем социальных сетей станет еще больше, мы сможем не только делится с другими фотографиями, но и списками покупок или болезней. Все больше и больше сайтов вовлекают людей публиковаться. Чем больше у нас подписчиков и друзей, тем больше возбужденными мы становимся.
