Past Simple (Past Indefinite) используется для выражения: 1. действия в прошлом, не связанного с настоящим, 2. повторяющихся дей­ствий в прошлом и 3. ряда последовательных действий в прошлом (= рассказ).

в вопросах с when и where. А также: What did you say? I didn't hear your question. I forgot his name. Now I understood. I saw him just now.

FLYING A KITE

Helen: Hello, everybody! It's Playtime again.

What's your hobby? Do you like reading? Do you like painting? Do you like riding a bike? Do you like collecting things? I like collecting stamps. Look, this is a stamp. And this is my stamp collection.

Jack: Look, Jill.

Jill: What a beautiful stamp!

Jack: Oh, a kite. I like flying kites.

Helen: Jack, what do you like doing?

Jack: I like flying kites.

Helen: Jack likes flying kites. All right. Let's make a kite. Come on, Jack.

Jack: I want to make it myself.

Helen: All right. Jack wants to make a kite himself. Let's see what he needs to make his kite. Two pieces of wood, some paper, some nails… Oh no, these nails are too big. Some glue, a piece of string and a hammer.

Jill, tell me what you like doing.

Jill: I like painting. Look, I'm painting a kite.

Helen: Jill is painting a kite and Jack is making a kite.

Jack: What colour is your kite?

Jill: My kite is yellow.

Jack: Mine is yellow too.

Jill: What colour is the tail of your kite?

Jack: It's red and green.

Helen: I don't know where Jack's kite is either.

Summary

Jack makes a kite. Jack and Jill try to fly the kite but it falls onto the grass. They try it again. This time the kite falls into an apple tree. An apple falls on the head of a police officer. Later the kite disappears in a cloud. Helen can find the kite and give it back to Jack and Jill.

Things I like: I like surfing the Internet, playing computer games, watching films, reading books, playing football, going out with my friends, swimming in the sea and doing sports.
