Эссе по английскому языку представляет собой глубоко осмысленное и развёрнутое письменное высказывание на заявленную тему с элементами рассуждения, включающее в себя систему обоснованных тезисов и уникальных выводов.

Требуемый объём – 200-250 слов.

Время, отведенное на выполнение задания – 60минут.

Максимальный балл за успешное выполнение – 14 баллов.

Рекомендуемый объем письменного высказывания с элементами рассуждения (эссе) на ЕГЭ составляет 200—250 слов. С учетом допустимого варьирования объема в сторону уменьшения и увеличения на 10%, проверяемый объем текста не может быть меньше 180 слов и не должен превышать 275 слов. Соблюдение заданного объема доказывает, что у экзаменуемого сформировано не только коммуникативное умение доказательно выразить свою мысль, но и развито умение экономного использования языковых знаков.

Benefits of education

Education gives people knowledge and skills

Schools prepare children to be members of a society

Mixed ability classes provide a better environment for children’s all-round development. In such classes, children with different abilities study together and in turn they can learn from one another. From example, a student, who is good at academic study but weak in dancing or painting, can learn how to dance or paint form his peers. In this sense, mixed ability classes allow students to develop their abilities in different subjects instead of only academic abilities.

Our today’s modem world needs qualified people in all the spheres of life. Those people, who think that having a good education is not very important, have their own plans. Some girls want to be good mothers and have big families. Other people think that manual professions do not need a good education. In this case they are mistaken.

To my mind all professions need special education. Nowadays only highly qualified workers can deal with rather sophisticated equipment and computers. Sure, there are talented people, but to my mind, all the gifts should be developed and supported by education and by more experienced people.

Benefits of Studying Abroad

Foreign institutions may offer better courses

Many students want to attend a prestigious university

The best universities employ teachers who are experts in their fields

Qualifications gained abroad can open the door to better job opportunities

Living abroad can broaden students’ horizons

Overseas students are exposed to different cultures and customs.

They become more independent

They are responsible for cooking, cleaning and paying bills

They will learn a foreign language

Drawback of studying abroad

Living and studying abroad can be difficult

Students have problems with paperwork such as visa applications

The language barrier can be a problem

Students have to find accommodation and pay bills

Studying in a foreign language is challenging

Living alone in an unfamiliar culture can cause homesickness

 

In recent times studying abroad has become very popular. Although there are many advantages to overseas study there are also some disadvantages.

One of the major problems with overseas study is that iris expensive. Tuition fees for overseas students are very high and often the cost of living is higher than in the student's own country. On the other hand, an overseas qualification may be a good long-term in ~estment and help the person get a better job when they return home. Furthermore, study at a foreign university may give students a different perspective on their subject.

Of course studying in one's own country is easier. There are no language problems and students know what to expect from the lecturers. In contrast, overseas students may be unable to understand lectures and find it difficult to adapt to different styles of teaching. However, overcoming these problems may provide useful skills later in life. Studying in a different environment helps students become more adaptable and gives them the confidence to deal with difficult problems.

Perhaps the main problem encountered by overseas students is culture shock. For many people it is their first time away from home and they get homesick. They miss their friends and family and find problems adapting to the language and culture. However, there is a sense of satisfaction in overcoming these problems. Overseas experience increases self-confidence and opens up people's minds to new ideas and cultures.

Overall, in spite of the difficulties of studying abroad, it is usually a positive experience.

Exams

Exams encourage students to study

Exam results may depend on how you feel on a particular day

If students get nervous, they will not perform as well as they could

Those who prepare properly for their exams feel calm and confident and do not make mistakes.

Modern exams include not only tests but also essay writing, where students can show their real knowledge and individual abilities.

Streaming could damage students’ self esteem

They may lose motivation

Students from wealthier families tend to be better prepared

Children from poorer families may receive less support from parents

Mixed ability classes encourage everyone to achieve their potential.

Advantages of a good teacher:

A great teacher is a good role model. The teacher should be warm, polite, caring and respects students. The teacher is a person whose knowledge helps me to develop as a personality. She is a highly skilled professional with high level of competence in the subject taught, educated, prepared and organized. Besides, the best teacher knows how to pass knowledge in the most effective way with the help of modern technology. She has the mastery of motivating everybody to learn. The teacher should have 3 essential (существенных) qualities:

A good teacher should:

A good teacher is a person who finds individual approach to every pupil, taking care about the child’s adaptation in class, increasing one’s social status in class and making sure the children learn to take into account and respect the thoughts of other people.

 

A child's upbringing

Both parents and schools have a major influence on a child's upbringing and so both have a role to play in the moral education of children. However, there is no easy answer as to the best method of educating children.

As parents are the first influence on children, they are the first example from which children learn. It is not only what a child is told that is important, it is also the example that the parents set. If parents lie to their children, it is not surprising if the children also lie.

School is also a major influence on a child's life. The culture of a school will help to establish forms of behaviour. For example, if a child sees students behaving badly, they are likely to copy this behaviour. In other words it is often not the school that influences the child but the child's friends. There is no perfect way to teach right from wrong. Every child is different and responds to different methods. However, there are some ways that are more successful than others. First, it is very important to be consistent. If a child is told not to do something one day and is allowed to do it the next, the child will become confused. Second, children will copy the behaviour of others so if a child is constantly exposed to bad behaviour, it is not surprising if he/she behaves badly.

Both school and home are important influences on a child. Children learn most from the standards that are acceptable where they grow up.

Handwriting

In the past, clear handwriting was essential, as it was necessary for school and university work, as well as for many job-related duties. Many people believe handwriting will no longer be useful in the future. Although computers are replacing handwriting in many areas, I still believe it is important children learn to write legibly.

People often talk about a paperless society. This means that all communication is carried out by electronic means. If this ever truly comes to pass, there will be no need to write by hand. Today, university and high school assignments have to be typed, so certainly handwriting is less important than it was before. This has made written communication simpler, as material can be reorganised and edited without being rewritten from scratch.

Although there will be less need for handwriting in the future, it is still an important skill for children to learn. Learning to write helps children learn to read, spell and punctuate. These are skills that computers can help with, but they still need input from the computer user. Furthermore, many schools and universities still require examinations to be handwritten, and this is likely to continue, as there is considerable concern about the possibility of cheating in assignments produced at home on computer.

In conclusion, although handwriting is less important than it was, it is still an important part of young peoples' education. This is because it is part of the learning process, and because there are still areas where handwritten responses are necessary.

Что требуется от участника ЕГЭ в задании 40 (ЭССЕ)

в задание 40 оценивается содержание, организация текста, лексики, грамматики, орфографии и пунктуации;

участник ЕГЭ должен выразить собственное мнение, суждение, аргументировать свою точку зрения, точку зрения оппонентов, привести контраргументы и сделать выводы, последовательно и логически строить высказывание;

использовать средства логической связи;

лексически, грамматически и орфографически правильно оформить текст;

строить высказывание в соответствии с предложенным в задании планом;

во вступлении перефразировать, изложить своими словами проблему,заявленную в формулировке задания, добавить фразы, подобрать синонимы или антонимы, показать её проблемный характер;

в основной части в первом абзаце высказать своё мнение и привести два-три развёрнутых и весомых аргумента в его обоснование (аргументы не должны дублировать друг друга);

в основной части во втором абзаце предоставить иную/другую точку зрения (показать альтернативное мнение) на данную проблему и привести один-два аргумента в пользу оппонентов;

в следующем абзаценужно объяснить, почему вы не согласны с данными аргументами и остаётесь при своём мнении (здесь вы должны сформулировать контраргументы). Приводя контраргументы, отстаивая свою точку зрения, используйте перифраз, синонимию, не повторяйте изложенное выше.

в заключении ещё раз выразите своё мнение другими словами, указав на проблемный характер темы, покажите вашу способность видеть и другие точки зрения, при этом отстаивая свою как более убедительную. Заключение должно строго соотноситься с введением и соответствовать теме;

после написания эссе проверьте написанное, сверяя с планом, убедитесь, что вы разделили текст на пять абзацев, отразив его логическую и содержательную структуру.

Критерии оценивания выполнения задания 40

Задание 40 (ЭССЕ) оценивается по пяти критериям:

 

решение коммуникативной задачи (содержание);

организация текста;

лексическое оформление текста;

грамматическое оформление текста;

орфография и пунктуация

По первым четырём критериям можно максимально получить по 3 балла, а по пятому критерию – максимум 2 балла.
