Some people attend all their high school reunions, but Peter (not to go) back to his school since he (graduate) ten years ago. Five years ago, he (make) arrangements to go to his five-year high school reunion, but two days before the reunion he (break) his leg. He (paint) his house on a tall ladder when he (lose) his balance. So he (not to go) to his five-year reunion.

Peter (not to visit) his hometown for ten years and his new wife, Martha, never (be) there. Peter and Martha (get) married about two years ago and they (not to be) married long when some of Peter’s high-school friends (come) to visit them last year. So at least Martha (meet) some of Peter’s old friends, even though she (not to be) to his hometown.


The Past Perfect Continuous ( Progressive ) Tense
